Paradise
Murals of Baltimore was contracted by the Prince George’s County Arts and Humanities, Art in Public Spaces for the St. Joseph’s Fire/EMS Station in Largo, Maryland. The mural was painted on fiber cement panels and then installed on a wall facing the Charles Herbert Flowers High School. The mural depicts famous African Americans from Maryland who are painted as marble statues, they are Frederick Douglas, Charles Herbert Flowers, Vivien Thomas, and Tom Miller. The niches represents the different stages of development of the area from being a rural farm area to a thriving suburb of Washington DC.
